How We Support Startups
Through our communities with accelerators and incubators, we plug directly into their cohorts—helping startups turn ambitious ideas into working systems.
Sometimes that means quick mentoring or technical guidance. Other times, it’s a small commercial contract that grows over time. And for many, it’s collaborating on grant-funded programs where Czero acts as the system integration partner.
This is how we meet startups where they are and help them grow.
Commercial Contracts
Many collaborations begin with small, focused projects and grow as funding becomes available. We bring the same rigor to a one-week analysis as we do to multi-year, full-system integration. In almost all cases, we assign all the developed IP to our customers.
Mentoring
We make Czero engineers available to answer questions, share supplier contacts, and provide technical guidance. Our team prides itself on being approachable and supportive of startups, whether that’s through targeted workshops or informal advising.

Grant-Based Funding
Czero has a rich history supporting startups in winning and executing grant-funded projects. We’ve collaborated on 15+ ARPA-E programs along with DOE, DOD, and California Energy Commission projects. While we don’t act as grant writers, we frequently partner as a sub-awardee, bringing credibility and proven technical depth to strengthen proposals.
